Top 50 Indie Sewell Retail has joined the British Oil Security Syndicate’s (BOSS’s) Payment Watch scheme.
All 12 of the company’s sites are now part of the ‘no means of payment’ debt recovery scheme.

David Craven-Jones, operations director at Sewell Retail, said: “After trialling Payment Watch at five sites, we’ve been impressed with the effectiveness of the scheme and have decided to adopt it at all 12 of our locations. Payment Watch has significantly cut our ‘no means of payment’ losses – in many cases the detailed documentation drivers have to sign is enough of a deterrent to encourage them to find a way to pay before they leave. If we do need to pursue a debt, the reporting process is simple and the recovery rate is good. Payment Watch offers real benefits to independent fuel retailers and I’d certainly recommend it.”
