Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at the BP petrol station in St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy, Fife, in the early hours of Sunday 1 February.

A man entered the shop at the petrol station at around 3.15am and threatened a staff member with a bladed weapon and demanded money. He escaped with a three figure sum of money, and while no-one was injured, the staff member was left shaken.

Detective sergeant Samantha Davidson said: “A team of specialised officers are dedicated to the enquiry in an effort to gain more information about the suspect and the incident.

“It’s imperative we trace the man responsible and I am appealing to anyone who may have information or any person who was in the area or visited the garage prior to the incident.

“In particular I am looking to trace two male customers who visited the petrol station and informed the staff member a male was loitering outside the premises.

“I would ask anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
