Police are appealing for witnesses after a large amount of cigarettes were stolen from a Tesco fuel station in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire.

Three men forced open shutters to the kiosk area at the site in Buxton Road, before breaking through the door.

They then stole a large number of cigarettes from behind the counter during the incident, which happened at about 12.15am on Friday December 19.

The offenders then left the kiosk and drove off in a silver car.

Police investigating the burglary want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, or who might have seen a silver car leaving at speed.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting incident 16 of December 19. Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
