A nationwide roadshow to introduce Phillips 66 to its trade customers after the split of ConocoPhillips has been attended by more than 200 distributors and dealers.

The roadshow visited eight well-known venues across the UK, with a specially designed double-decker bus serving as a mobile meeting room for customers to learn more about the Phillips 66 brand and its team, and to discuss their own plans for the future.

Pete George, managing director, UK and Ireland marketing, explained: “The key reasons we organised the roadshow were to introduce customers to our team, highlight our new customer-focused structure and approach, and enable dealers and distributors to find out more about our plans for Phillips 66 and Jet. Just as important to us was to hear directly from them and find out more about their needs. We certainly achieved this and more.

“We felt it was important to get out on the road, meet customers and show them that it’s business as usual after the structural changes implemented earlier in 2012.

“The roadshow route was specially designed to reach as many customers as possible. Over eight days, the bus visited a variety of locations, including The Falkirk Wheel in Scotland, the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Twickenham Stadium and Edgbaston Cricket Ground, before finishing at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club.

“For the last 50 years, we have built a reputation amongst dealers and distributors for being friendly and approachable. The informal nature of the roadshow certainly emphasised this. Indeed, it was just the start of our marketplace activity as Phillips 66, and we look forward to building on its success in 2013.”

Phillips 66 was introduced to the UK earlier this year, following the split of ConocoPhillips into two independent companies. As a result, Phillips 66 focuses on downstream refining, marketing operations and trading in the UK, while also continuing to market its fuel brand as Jet.
