The receivers of Top 50 Indie Calanike Retailing have appointed Christie & Co to sell the network of 19 forecourts in Scotland and Northern England.

Glasgow-based Calanike was placed in receivership in January this year but receivers Zolfo Cooper have been unable to find a buyer for the group.

The 19 sites are available in groups or individually, and Christie & Co is inviting unconditional offers for the freehold interest in all the sites by Thursday August 23, 2012.

There are 12 sites around Glasgow, two on the west coast of Scotland, three on the east coast, and two sites near Newcastle and Middlesborough. Annual turnover of the businesses range from £1.35m to £3.73m.

Christie & Co’s website states that there are “significant opportunities to develop the trade and/or the properties”. It also says the sites may be of interest to developers for alternative use.

A spokeswoman for Zolfo Cooper said: “The joint receivers confirm Christie & Co has been retained by Calanike Retailing Limited – in receivership – to facilitate a sale of the business and assets of the company. All enquires are welcome.”
