UK-based PSD Codax will be launching its new generation of access control systems for car wash equipment, now featuring both code access and contactless smartcard technology, during Automechanika Frankfurt 2012.

Codax is unveiling its new ticket terminal which gives retailers the option of offering multi-wash smartcards and account cards. As well as adding smartcard technology, the company claims the new Codax terminal provides faster authorisation and rapid printing.

Codax will  also be demonstrating the new Ethernet version of its market-leading technology during Automechanika. Codax Code Generator now gives retailers the added option of selling smartcards for multi-buy wash promotions via their point of sale (POS) terminals.

The system plugs directly into the in-store network so that all tills can be used to sell car wash programmes and print customer access codes for single payments. POS integration with Codax technology also allows retailers and managers at head office to collect accurate sales data from any sales desk.

Graham Round, managing director of PSD Codax, said: "Smartcards are increasingly popular with frequent car wash users and fleet operators who can benefit from multi-buy discounts and other promotions.

"Integrating the latest contactless card technology with Codax allows retailers to exploit this growing demand by offering multi-wash promotions from our new ticket terminals or via their POS equipment.

"Smartcards have no value until validated by the POS and wash codes are issued only after a till transaction has been completed. This gives retailers far greater control over their car wash equipment and their revenues."
