Independent forecourt retailer Charles Richards, who runs St Blazey Service Station in Cornwall with his father Barrie, is helping the government with flood prevention.

As chairman of the Par and St Blazey Community Flood Group, Charles has been asked to submit a case study to appear on the Cabinet Office website.

Chronicling the floods of November 2010, the case study will focus on the establishment of the Community Flood Group and its growth, as an example of “community engagement and resilience”.
