Top 50 Indie Sewell Retail is tipped to be in the Sunday Times list of the Top 100 best companies to work for for the third year running. The company’s ranking is due to be confirmed on Feb 24.
The news came as the Hull-based group celebrated its successes of 2010 and outlined plans for the year at its Sewell Convention 2011 – a week-long programme of events and activities.
Held last month at the Sewell Studio – a new development that brings together office, training, showroom, education, entertainment and networking facilities all under one roof – the convention, running for the second year, received high praise from not only Sewell Group team members but also the wider business community in Hull.
Patrick Sewell, managing director of Sewell Retail, which has 12 forecourts across Hull employing more than 200 people, said: “This year’s convention was fantastic. It’s great to have the chance for everyone from across Sewell Group to come together and share success stories and examples of best practise.
“While we are a multi-discipline organisation there are lessons that can be learned right across the company and the convention is a perfect forum for these.
“With my focus being on the retail side of the business it was really brilliant to be able to bring team members together from across all of our stores,” added Patrick. “What really stood out for me was the dedication and enthusiasm from everyone, and with that in mind I’m sure we are set for another successful year for Sewell Retail.”
