Total UK is now offering AdBlue HGV additives from a pump dispenser on five of its UK forecourts.

All HGV vehicles are required by law to meet the environmental requirements of the Euro 5 standards on polluting. To meet this green requisite, AdBlue is used in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process to reduce the emissions of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel engine vehicles.

In light of these regulations, according to Peter Hollister, Total’s Retail Fuels Development manager, the vast majority of manufacturers have turned to SCR technology to help them achieve these standards. "Historically, dispensers of AdBlue have been set up on fleet premises, however this can incur several thousand pounds worth of expense and disruption," he said.
To help reduce costs and offer a convenient alternative, the AdBlue pump dispensers are available on the five Total forecourts across the UK – TCS Kings Lynn (Kings Lynn, Norfolk); TCS Barthomley (Junction 16 M6, Cheshire); TCS Godmanchester (Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire); TCS Appleby Magna – M42/A42, Derbyshire; and TCS Thickthorn (A11/A47 Norwich, Norfolk).

“At Total we always aim to try harder for our customers and believe we are unique in offering AdBlue in this way," said Hollister. "Not only do the pumps offer real benefits to drivers in terms of convenience, they provide a welcome cheaper alternative solution to fleets with HGVs.”
