During the floods that hit Cumbria last November, staff at Fairfield Garage in Cockermouth went out of their way to

help. Robin Benn, owner of the Gulf-supplied site, let the emergency workers, as well as Cumbrian Mountain Rescue and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)teams, use it for lighting as well as providing them with refreshments.

However, now Robin and a group of friends have raised £1,264.34 to support those services even further.

"We were able to get home and reach our businesses but 300 yards down the road from us, people lost everything. You don’t realise just how much the RNLI and Mountain Rescue can help people until you see it first hand." Robin and his friends said that when they reached their initial fundraising target of £300, they’d dye their hair pink. Gulf donated that precise amount and the men were true to their word.
