Nestlé Rowntree is to be the official partner of the forthcoming Warner Bros film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The film, starring Johnny Depp, is released on July 29 and is expected to be a massive box office success.

Graham Walker, Nestlé Rowntree sales communications manager, says: “We’re absolutely delighted to be the official partner of Warner Brother’s new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory film. Not only is it one of the most famous children’s books ever, but it is also all about chocolate! It is the ideal family film for us to associate with.”

The partnership presents Nestlé Rowntree with the opportunity to develop some activity using the film’s licence.

In July, Nestlé Rowntree will be launching the three new products actually featured in the film – Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight, Nutty Crunch Surprise (the surprise is it contains no nuts!), and Triple Dazzle Caramel. Impulse bars will have a rrp of 45p.

What’s more, there will be five Golden Tickets to be found inside these new chocolate bar wrappers. The lucky winners will get the opportunity to take their families on a trip to the US.
