onstruction company, owned by former Forecourt Trader of the Year Jonathan James, has begun work on a new petrol station in Soham.

James Construction and Developments Ltd has appointed P&C Services and Tokheim on the project, and this is their 12th major development working together.

The scheme will comprise a 1,900sq ft retail space to include M&S Simply Food and a Wild Bean Café. The BP-branded forecourt will have four pump islands, two jet washes and an automatic car wash. Once developed, ownership will transfer to another group company, James Graven and Sons Ltd, that has entered into a lease with BP. This will be the fifth petrol station owned by James Graven and Sons Ltd and its third to be leased to BP.

James Construction and Developments Ltd was able to kick-start the 15-week build schedule following funding from Lloyds Bank and the site will be open before Christmas.

Jonathan James said: "Soham has experienced significant growth over recent years and is now a hotspot for opportunities. The new petrol station will provide much needed facilities for local residents and motorists alike.

"We have enjoyed a continued relationship with Lloyds Bank and the team fully understand what we are trying to achieve."
