Officers from Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a petrol station in Warrington.

At approximately 1.00am on Tuesday 23 August a man entered the Esso petrol station on Wilderspool Causeway, Warrington, armed with a golf club, and threatened the cashier with the golf club demanding that he handed over money and cigarettes.

After receiving the cash and cigarettes the man left the store and made off on foot along Wilderspool Causeway.

The offender is described as a white man, approximately 6ft tall, of slim build with blue eyes and a small nose. He was wearing black trainers, black skinny pants, a dark grey/ black hooded top with the hood up that was covered by a hooded black gilet, a black baseball cap and a black scarf that was covering his face. The man was also holding a golf club in his left hand and wearing distinctive blue, white and black gloves.

Investigating officer detective constable Neil Orford said: “We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident and as part of my investigation I’m keen to speak to anyone who believes they have any information in relation to the case.

“Although this incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, Wilderspool Causeway is a busy road and I believe that there would have been people in the area at the time of this incident who may hold vital information that could help us to locate the offender.”
