Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a Nottingham service station on the evening of Thursday, 28 January, 2016.

Nottinghamshire Police were called just after 6.30pm after two masked men entered the Tesco Express service station on the A610 Nuthall Road at Cinderhill. The men threatened staff with a firearm and knife before stealing a quantity of cash.

A male security guard was struck over the head during the incident but staff were left otherwise uninjured.

Police said the man’s injuries were not believed to be life threatening or life altering.

It is believed the men fled over woodland and open ground behind the service station in the direction of Basford Hall College and Basford Miners Welfare.
