A 37-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent and robbery in connection with an incident at a filling station in Derby.

Police were called to the Texaco garage in Traffic Street just after midnight on Saturday, January 2, after reports that a man had walked in and demanded cash.

A member of staff suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Richard Briggs, of Beaufort Street, Derby, was remanded in custody and a 28-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, was bailed pending further inquiries.
