Discos pack a punch

KP Snacks has relaunched Discos to include a new prawn cocktail flavour in multipacks, "punchier" salt & vinegar and cheese & onion flavours, and more impactful packaging. On-pack flashes and lightning bolts communicate the flavour intensity, plus there's a new logo and more vibrant colours for each flavour.

Phat pies fit the bill

The surf-themed Phat Pasty Co has added premium pies to its range. The new Phat Pies are supplied fully baked, frozen and can be re-heated to serve.

Lucozade's latest line

Lucozade Energy's latest limited edition is melonade. Roxana Parvizi, senior brand manager for the drinks, said: "Exotic is the fastest-growing flavour range, experiencing 10% year-on-year value growth. The melon flavour profile of melonade is a category first. It is great tasting so is sure to attract new shoppers into the energy drinks market."

Cheese-filled treat

Following the success of its chilli dog, Rollover Hotdogs has launched a limited-edition cheese dog. With a cheese-filled centre, it has been introduced to offer customers greater menu choice and the opportunity to try something new. Specially designed point of sale display is also available. Sales and marketing director, Tony Owen, said: "Recent research told us that younger Rollover customers in particular have a love of all things cheesy, so we're hoping this launch will go down a treat."

New Mattessons Double Dippers are a combination of 100% marinated chicken breast pieces and two dips one creamy, one crunchy. There are three flavours: classic marinated chicken breast with a creamy ranch dip and a toasted crumb crunch; Thai chicken with a sweet chilli dip and a toasted crumb crunch; and tikka chicken with a mint yogurt dip and a toasted crumb crunch. Rrp is £1.59.

Limited edition returns

Following its huge success when it was first launched in August last year, the limited-edition Mars Caramel is returning on September 8, when it will be available for eight weeks. Chewy, buttery caramel replaces the nougat in the classic Mars recipe. Retailers are advised to stock up on this limited-edition bar, which apparently appeared in the top 10 list of most popular brands for driving penetration, and capitalises on the increasing popularity of caramel among consumers.

Bagging a display

Nine of The Dormen Food Company's products, including original salted peanuts and cashew nuts, are available in new 12x50g/40g shelf-ready packs. The company hopes that reducing the case size from 24s to 12s will give the range an increased presence at till fronts or in snack aisles. To make display easier for retailers, boxes are colour matched to the product inside.
