Pastilles turn sour

This month Nestlé is launching Rowntree's Sour Pastilles. They come in 48g impulse bags containing five extreme sour flavours: blackcurrant, pineapple, cherry and melon. With no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, they contain 25% real fruit juice. Recommended retail price is 48p.

The Wrigley Company is adding a blue sweet to Skittles. The limited edition blue Skittle packs are available now for a three-month period.

Trio of teas from PG

PG Tips is adding three 'fresh tasting' tea blends to its range. The Fresh One pressed within hours of picking to give a clean, smooth tea; The Strong One a full-flavour blend with extra-pressed leaves; and The Delicate One a decaffeinated tea blend made with lightly pressed leaves.

Jaxx Mouthy Chocolate has launched Jaxx Crunches chocolate with a surprise crunchy centre. There are three varieties: milk chocolate, orange chocolate and double chocolate.

Levi Roots goes fizzy

Levi Roots is entering the soft drinks market with a range of fizzy drinks. The range comprises fiery root ginger beer with lime 'n' honey, which is made with Jamaican ginger extract; and Caribbean crush, which is a tropical blend of mango, grapefruit and pineapple. Both flavours will be available in 330ml cans, 500ml and 2ltr PET bottles. Recommended retail prices are 65p, £1.19 and £1.89 respectively but the 500ml PET is also available in a 99p price-marked pack. In addition, a 1ltr ambient juice is being launched into grocery multiple outlets.

Rushing to market

Britvic is bringing PepsiCo's SoBe Pure Rush energy drink to the UK. Available in apple berry burst and tropical twist varieties, it comes in 250ml cans with a rrp of £1.39.

Smint backs Cancer Care

New from Smint is a two-in-one raspberry lemon variety, launched to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. Five pence from every pack sold will be donated to the charity.

Barr Cola boost

AG Barr has launched a 500ml Big Cola can. Available in regular and diet, it is price-marked at 49p. Nielsen stats show that Barr sold over 4.5 million cans of cola last year.

On the ball

Red Bull is being backed by a £1.5m 'workplace' campaign in a bid to educate consumers about drinking the beverage at work. The theme of the activity is 'Want to be on the ball?'.

McVitie's is joining in the royal celebrations with a limited edition Royal Wedding biscuit tin featuring Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Müller goes bananas

Müller Rice has a new limited edition banana & toffee variety. The launch is supported by a £1.5m TV and press advertising campaign. A bespoke 10-second end tag highlighting the new flavour has been added to the existing 20-second TV execution, and a new press advertisement has been developed for the launch campaign. Both will continue to position the brand as a tasty, healthy, low-fat snack which is "Surprisingly Nice".
