Price-mark boost

United Biscuits is launching a new range of £1 price-marked sharing packs across some of its most recognisable savoury snacks brands to help retailers grow sales this summer. Available this month, the new selection includes McCoy's (flame grilled steak); Hula Hoops (BBQ beef); Mini Cheddars (original); and Phileas Fogg crisps (sea salt & Indonesian black peppercorn).

Ariel targets stains

P&G is making a bold leap into the stain removal sector with an Ariel-branded multi-product line-up which covers whites and colours, in powder, gel and spray format. The company believes there is huge potential for the category as only half of UK households buy extra stain products, and those that do use it in only one quarter of washes. The new range will benefit from the brand's biggest-ever marketing campaign, which will include extensive TV coverage as well as in-store activity.

Rockstar in recovery

AG Barr's Rockstar energy drinks range is being boosted with the launch of the Rockstar Recovery 500ml can. The company says it is the UK's first non-carbonated energy drink. It comes in cases of 12 and a £1.19 price-marked can is available.

Kellogg's is running a voucher code promotion on cereal packs which can be redeemed for free cereal. Running until September, it includes Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes and Frosties.

Varta is launching an LCD charger aimed at people on the go. Due out in September, it includes a car adapter to keep gadgets powered up on long journeys, rrp £29.99.

Monster is aiming to further develop its UK energy offering this summer with the launch of Monster Khaos. Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has distributed Monster since January 2009 and says the brand is now the number two 500ml canned energy drink in this country, as well as the third largest stimulation energy brand.

Travel right with Simpkins

Travel sweets manufacturer Simpkins sells its traditional sweets and mints through a range of forecourts and retailers. The family-run company says it has been manufacturing glucose travel sweets for over three generations. All the ranges use natural colours and flavourings and are made using the same recipe and methods used by the company's founder AL Simpkin in 1921.
