Nestlé summer of fun

Nestlé has launched its 2010 'Get Set, Go Free' promotion, which offers consumers the opportunity to try out a range of activities for free over the summer holidays. Backed by a £3m media campaign, the points collection promotion is Nestlé UK's biggest ever and will run across six categories confectionery singles and multipacks, chocolate biscuit bars, cereals, Nesquik powders and Pure Life water. Advertising will break in mid-July, with coverage on TV, radio, in the press, outdoor and online, with 95% of parents expected to see the campaign up to 19 times.

Food Connections has launched new energy boost bar Wired. Containing caffeine and taurine, the 80g bar is said to have the equivalent kick to leading energy drinks but with the added bonus of oats, so enabling a longer-lasting energy fix.

Squeeze the day

Red Bull is aiming to help consumers get the most from their day and retailers the most from the energy category with its new through-the-line 'Sets You Up' activity. Backed by a £6.3m investment, the new campaign which, following last month's launch has further bursts of activity in August and November is the result of company research which identified further opportunities for consumers to drink Red Bull. Specifically the study identified the need for transformational energy, such as early morning wanting to be on the ball on arrival at work; or leaving work and having the energy to put in a good workout. Red Bull has developed the creative platform 'Want to Squeeze Today Dry?" to complement 'Red Bull Gives You Wings'.
