Armed robber strikes at BP site in Fife

04 February, 2015

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at the BP petrol station in St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy, Fife, in the early hours of Sunday 1 February.

A man entered the shop at the petrol station at around 3.15am and threatened a staff member with a bladed weapon and demanded money. He escaped with a three figure sum of money, and while no-one was injured, the staff member was left shaken.

Detective sergeant Samantha Davidson said: A team of specialised officers are dedicated to the enquiry in an effort to gain more information about the suspect and the incident.

Its imperative we trace the man responsible and I am appealing to anyone who may have information or any person who was in the area or visited the garage prior to the incident.

In particular I am looking to trace two male customers who visited the petrol station and informed the staff member a male was loitering outside the premises.

I would ask anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
