Heinz has launched a free online planogram tool for the convenience sector. The service enables retailers to prepare online core range planograms, tailored to the exact dimension of their fixtures. The project has been undertaken with independent c-sector space planning consultant Shelfmax. The www.shelfmax.co.uk website helps convenience retailers produce individual merchandising plans based on the latest convenience sector market data.
The first element to roll out is ‘Shelfmax for table sauces’. Following a recent trial in Budgens Local stores it was found that total table sauce sales increased as a result of implementing the suggested Shelfmax layout. Peter Head, owner of the Budgens Local trial stores, said: “I believe my sales increased because it means shoppers are able to find the most popular sauces more quickly.”www.shelfmax.co.uk
