Hammond MD retires, and takes on PRA role

Brian Madderson, managing director of Kent-based Top 50 Indie George Hammond, is to retire at the end of October and take on a new role as non-executive chairman of the Petrol Retailers' Association on November 1. George Hammond plc entered into petrol

retailing in 1972 having been at the forefront of shipping activities in the English Channel and the North Sea since the company was established in 1767. It is now established as one of the leading retailers in the south east of England. It has eight BP-branded retail sites in Kent and East Sussex which offer a wide range of forecourt services including car wash, mini markets and ATM services.

James Ryeland and John Ryeland have been appointed joiunt managing directors of George Hammond plc and take on their new roles on November 1. John will have responsibility for petrol retailing and administration, while James will look after marine and port services.
