Asda opening offer below £1 per litre

02 December, 2015

Asda’s newest petrol station in Highbridge, Somerset, opened on Wednesday, December 2, with petrol priced at 99.7ppl and 103.7ppl for diesel for the first three days of business.

The new unmanned eight-pump petrol station, which accepts credit and debit cards only, has been built in place of the small residents' car park next to the access road into the Highbridge store despite opposition from some of those living close by.

Sedgemoor District Council gave planning permission for the development in November 2013.

Meanwhile, an Asda filling station at Llansamlet, Swansea, had to close after running out of supplies following the launch of the chain’s three-day nationwide offer of 99.7ppl for unleaded petrol and 103.7ppl for diesel last weekend (November 27-29).

A spokeswoman for Asda told the South Wales Evening Post: “We did close the station for two hours as we had run out of fuel. We had a delivery and the station is now back open.”

Prices have now returned to 103.7ppl and 106.7ppl respectively.
